Retailer gives you full control of where & how receipts are printed, but you must first configure your printers on each POS terminal.

Notes
These features require the appropriate printer drivers/software to be installed on your computer.

Configuring POS Printing in Retailer

  1. On the top menu bar of Retailer, click on Setup -> Point of Sale.

Printing tab (general printer settings)

This section mainly selects the default printer for receipts (docket or A4) and has options to include logos or extra stock details on the receipt.
  1. Click on the Terminals tab and then, in the middle row of tabs, Printing.
  2. In the Receipts section:
    • In Receipt Type, select the type of printer for receipts.
    Notes
      If you select A4 or A5, select the printer from the drop-down box and go to Step 4. If you select Receipt Printer, continue below.
    • In Printer, select the brand/make of the receipt printer from the drop-down box.
    • In Port, select LPT1.
    • Tick Use Printer Driver.
    • In Driver Name, select the receipt printer driver name from the drop-down box.
    • Tick Add Logos to Receipts, if required. Click HERE to learn more about receipt logos.
    • Tick Print Extra Details on Receipts, if required. Click HERE to learn more about stock extra details.
  3. Click Save.

Report Mapping tab (specific receipt and printer settings)

This section let's you assign different sale types to print receipts to different printers, and receipt email behaviour. It also allows selection of the receipt template to use (docket or A4).
  1. Click on the Report Mapping tab. The screen should already be populated with default settings. If not, follow the steps below to add them.
  2. You can use the Add Defaults button, which will add all receipt types for the currently selected printer (Printer and Driver options can be found under the printing tab). Alternatively you can use the Plus button down the bottom left hand side to add in report mapping options individually.
  3. To add additional printing options:
    • Click on the + button.
    • Under Report Type, select the type of transaction receipt.
    • Under Qty, enter the number of copies to print.
    • Under Friendly Name, type in a name for the printer. This is optional and only appears if you multiple printers for the same receipt type.
    • Under Code, type in the terminal code for the printer. This is only used for Multi-store users with Terminal Services selected under the Printer option.
    • Under Printer, select the printer driver from the drop-down box or one the options below:
      Choose Printer
      Allows you to choose a printer when the receipt type is generated.
      Preview 
      Allows you to view the receipt on-screen before printing it out.
      Terminal Services
      Used for Multi-store users that access Retailer using a Remote Desktop Connection.
    • Under Template, select the receipt style from the drop-down box.
    • Under Margin Right, you may set a margin for the right side of the receipt, to adjust alignment of printing. A bigger number adds more space on the right.
    • Under Margin Left, you may set a margin for the left side of the receipt, to adjust alignment of printing. A bigger number adds more space on the left.

    • Repeat the steps above for each receipt type that you want to print.
    • Click the Green Tick icon to save the changes.
