Setup Gun Traders integration

Retailer can connect to the Gun Traders marketplace through Tower Web Connect. Products setup in Retailer can sync to Gun Traders, reducing the data entry requirements.

Request Gun Traders API Details

Contact Gun Traders to request your Dealer Code and API Secret.

Create TWC Connection

  1. Login to the Tower Systems website: https://towersystems.com.au/login
  2. Click Tower Web Connect
    1. You can also open Tower Web Connect directly at: https://twc.towersystems.com.au
  3. Click Create New.
  4. For Name, enter Gun Traders.
  5. For Weblink Group Number, select 29.
  6. For Connection Type, select Gun Traders.
  7. For Domain, enter: https://api.guntraders.com.au/api/v1/integrations/tower/feed
  8. Enter the API Secret provided by Gun Traders.
  9. Enter the Dealer Code provided by Gun Traders.
  10. Click Save.
  11. Click the Test Connection Details button. A pop up will appear in the bottom right corner.
    1. If the popup shows Invalid Connection, check the Domain, API Secret and Dealer Code.
  12. Click the Enabled toggle to activate the connection.
  13. Scroll down to Resources and tick Product.
  14. Click the Save button at the top of the page.

Retailer Setup

  1. Close and reopen Retailer
  2. On the top menu bar of Retailer, click on Tasks → Weblink Full Sync then click Yes.
  3. After 10 minutes, click on Stock Maintenance → Group Management.
    1. If the Group Management screen does not open, contact Tower Support.
  4. Down the left hand side, click Gun Traders.
  5. Click the Add button.
  6. Change the Webstore Enabled setting that was added, to No.
  7. To further limit the products listed on Gun Traders, add a Tag to the criteria.
    For example, have 1x criteria line with both Webstore Enabled = No and Tag = GunTraders
  8. Click Save.
  9. Retailer will generate a stock file and send it to Gun Traders within 10 minutes.
Notes
The time to complete a full sync depends on how much stock you've flagged to go through.

Sync Management

You can check your sync progress on the Tower Web Connect site. https://twc.towersystems.com.au
Click the Gun Traders connection then click the Syncs tab.
The Date and Time of each sync will appear along with the number of products sent in the 'Success' column.

There are two types of syncs from Retailer to Gun Traders:
  1. Full Product File: Contains all Gun Traders products. Sent at least once per day.
  2. Incremental Product File: Contains only Gun Traders products that have changed (arrived, sold, description change etc). Sent every 5 mins.
The TWC Sync log will show both. It is expected to see a large sync in the TWC Sync Log each day.

Trigger a Full Sync

After making a large number of changes, you may wish to send a full product file to Gun Traders.
On the top menu bar of Retailer, click on Tasks → Weblink Full Sync then click Yes.
The TWC Sync log should show a large sync after 10 minutes. If no sync appears, See Below.

Product Management

Gun Traders require products to have a Web Description, Image and positive Quantity on Hand before publishing.
The product Web Price is used as the listing price. This allows a different price to appear on Gun Traders as instore.

Web Description and Images

The Web Description and Images of products will display on the Gun Traders Marketplace. There are a number of tools in Retailer that can help setup Web Descriptions and Images:

Bulk Editing Products

If this is your first time listing products online then you can read our advice sheets about using the Stock Manager to make this process more efficient. Stock Manager can be used to add or remove a Tag in bulk. For images, you can use the bulk image import function.

FAQ

New Syncs not appearing in Tower Web Connect
If Retailer is not uploading new data to Gun Traders, you may need to restart the Weblink Service.
Alternatively, Restart the Main/Server computer.
  1. On the Main/Server computer find the Retailer Backup icon (Blue R)
  2. Down the left, click on Settings → Database Settings.
  3. At the top of the page, 'This is the Server' should be ticked. If it is not ticked, you are not on the Main computer. Try a different computer
  4. Tick 'Run Random on Startup'.
  5. Click 'Install WebLink Service'
  6. You should get a notification popup to say that Weblink service has been started. If the weblink service could not be started, wait 30 seconds and try clicking on 'Install WebLink Service' again.
  7. Once you get the message saying the service has started, untick Run Random on Startup.
  8. Close Retailer Backup.
  9. Tower Web Connect should show a Sync after 10 mins
