Stock Tags in Retailer allow you to add another layer of categorisation to your stock items, beyond that of the default department, category and supplier options. Stock Tags can be used to find stock in Advanced Search, filter Reports and can also sync to a website linked to Retailer.
In other words, you can have stock items with the same tag despite them being in a different department, category and/or supplier. Take the following 3 items for example:
Stock Description | Department | Supplier | Stock Tags |
Blue Lightsaber | Toys | Hasbro | Star Wars |
Jedi Costume | Clothes | Walt Disney | Star Wars |
Star Wars: The Force Awakens Bluray | Media | Lucasfilm | Star Wars |
When you run a report for the tag of Star Wars, it will report on all these products. It would have been much more difficult to report on them based on Department, Category or Supplier otherwise.
