Allow An Item To Be Discounted

Discounting can be Enabled/Disabled at a Department, Category and Stock Item level. The 3 settings work together to determine if an item can be discounted.
For example, if a Stock Item is ticked to Allow Discount but the department it is in has Allow Discounts unticked, the item cannot be discounted.


Allow Discounting at Department/Category Level
  1. In the menu bar of the Main Screen of Retailer, click on Stock Maintenance -> Suppliers and Departments. Alternatively, use the Stock -> Suppliers & Departments main screen button
  2. Use the magnifying glass icon to search for and select the particular department.
    • To select a category, click on the Categories tab and click on the magnifying glass icon to search for and select the particular category.
  3. Ensure that Allow Stock Items of this Department/Category to be Discounted is ticked. A prompt will appear asking if you wish to tick Allow Discount for all Stock Items in the Department/Category
  4. Click Save.

Allow Discounting on a Single Stock Item
  1. In the menu bar of the Main Screen of Retailer, click on Stock Maintenance -> Stock Screen. Alternatively, use the Stock -> Stock Screen main screen button
  2. Click on the magnifying glass icon to search for and select the particular item.
  3. Click on the Other tab.
  4. Ensure that the Allow Discount tickbox is ticked.
  5. Click Save.
