Identify Model and Ports
Before installing the printer driver, identify the model number and port for the printer.
- For the model number, look on the sticker on the side of the printer.
The model number should start with TM-T88 followed by a Roman numeral.
NOTE: If the sticker is on the side of the printer and shows TM-T82II, click HERE for the installation instructions for the TM-T88II receipt printer. - For the port, look on the back of the printer and identify which port the cable plugs into. It is usually plugged into the Parallel/LPT or USB port.
Installing the Printer Driver
- Close Retailer if it is open.
- Click HERE to download the EPSON driver.
- Once it has completed downloading, run the installation file.
- The Epson Advanced Install Shield will then pop up. Click Next.
- In the License Agreement screen, tick I accept the terms of the license agreement. Click Next.
- In the Setup Type screen, select Standard. Click Next.
- In the Printer Configuration screen, click on the Add button.
- In Select Driver, select the model of printer. The model number is on a sticker on the side of the printer.
- In Port Type, select the connection type of the printer.
- Click Next.
NOTE: If you selected Create a parallel port, you need to select the port number. Leave this on LPT1 unless you need a different one and click Next. - Back in the Printer Configuration screen, you will see your printer in the list. Click Next.
- In the Start Copying Files screen, click Next.
- The installation will proceed. Click Finish when the installation is complete.
- Plug in the receipt printer and turn it on.
- The computer will continue installing the driver in the background. A notification message should appear on the taskbar when it's finished.
Test the Printer
- Click on the Windows Start button and immediately type in the word control. In the results that appear, click on Control Panel.
- Click on Devices and Printers
- In the Devices and Printers screen, look for and then right-click on the EPSON printer icon.
Click on Printer Properties. - Click on Print Test Page.
- A test page should print out of the receipt printer. If not, reinstall the driver again or contact Tower Systems Support.
Setup in Retailer
On the printer driver has been installed, Retailer needs to be configured to use the printer driver.
