The Stock Screen has a function to make a stock item inactive, which can be used to hide stock items in the Find Stock Screen and can be excluded from reports. The stock items are not actually removed from your database and they will still scan in Point of Sale.
Setting a Stock Item as Inactive
- On the top menu bar of Retailer, go to Stock Maintenance -> Stock Screen.
- Click on the magnifying glass icon to search for the particular stock item.
- On the Details tab, tick Make Item Inactive.
- You will be prompted with a warning to confirm you wish to hide this item. If you agree, click Yes.
- Click Save.
This item will now be hidden in the Find Stock screen, however it will still act like a normal stock item in other situations (ie. may be scanned into POS, Returns, Special Customers Orders etc).

If you wish to fully remove stock items that are no longer sold, you can use the archiver. Click HERE for more details.

Stock Items can be set Inactive in Bulk using Stock Manager. See Making Bulk Changes Through Stock Manager
Show/Hide Inactive Stock Items in the Find Stock Screen
- To hide all Inactive items from the Find Stock Screen, untick Show All Stock at the bottom-left of the Find Stock Screen.
- To show all Inactive items in the Find Stock Screen, tick Show All Stock at the bottom-left of the Find Stock Screen.

If a stock item is moved to a different department or category, this will affect all reports to reflect the new department and category it is in.

Stock items marked as inactive can still be sent to weblink groups like your website and Roam, as long as they meet the group's criteria. You must untick the Web Store Item setting on the stock to prevent it from being sent to your weblink groups.
