This report allows you to compare the sales of two stores on a per-department basis over a set date range, and shows the variance between them.
The report is only available for Multi-store sites, and only viewable if the store is set as a Master Store in Setup->Multi-Store->Store Rules, and Only Show Local Store Information is not ticked.
Generating the Report
From the main screen of Retailer, click on Reports → Sales Reports → Store Comparison Report at the top.
There are a few options you can set for the report:
- Date Range - Select the Start and End Date of sales transactions to be included in the report.
- Select Stores to include - Select the two stores you wish to compare from the drop down menus
- Exclude Home Delivery & Subagent Orders - Tick to exclude any customer delivery orders and subagent orders (for newsagencies).
Reading the Report
The Report will group the following according to each store location included on the report, and also display departments if the option is ticked:
- Total Sales - Total dollar value of sales transactions in this period
- Quantity Sold - Total number of items sold for the store or department
- Stock Turnover - Annualised Sales to Inventory Ratio; a ratio based on the sales to inventory value on an annual basis for
the selected period. Useful for comparing the same departments between
stores. The higher ratio in a store vs the other store for a particular
department can be caused by a lower stock holding, higher sell through
rate or both.
This is calculated as (Total Sales / Stock Value) / (365 - Selected Date Range). - ROI - Return on Investment - Shows the return on investment for
the department. This is the gross profit divided by the purchases for that department.
- Gross Profit (%) - Gross profit in percentages, of items sold
- Variance - Difference in values between the two stores
