Stock Manager Examples

Using Stock Manager to change Stock Department or Category

Often you will find that you wish to change a certain group of stock from one department/category to another department/category. There is a feature in Retailer designed to do this called Stock Manager.
  1. Always perform a backup before making changes in the Stock Manager. See HERE
  2. On the top menu bar, click on Stock Maintenance → Stock Manager.
  3. If the Stock Manager grid contains stock items, click on Remove → Remove All on the top of the Stock Manager screen. This will clear the grid and ensure that unwanted items are not included in the edit.
  4. Click on Search.
  5. In the Advanced Stock Search screen, enter criteria to find the stock items to wish to edit. For example, select a Department and/or Category.

  6. Click Search. The Stock Manager grid will now display all stock items based on the search criteria.
  7. You can select (tick) specific items to work on, and filter the list on the screen. For more information on how to filter, click HERE.
  8. Click Edit Selected on the top of the Stock Manager screen.
  9. On the right-hand side of the Stock Manager screen, there are department and category options. Click the drop-down arrow next to the department/category option you wish to change and select the appropriate department/category.
  10. Any changes will be highlighted in red. These will apply to ALL Stock Items selected in Stock Manager (also highlighted red).
  11. Click Save to apply the changes.

Using Stock Manager to change Barcode Label Style

  1. Always perform a backup before making changes in the Stock Manager. See HERE
  2. On the top menu bar, click on Stock Maintenance → Stock Manager.
  3. If the Stock Manager grid contains stock items, click on Remove → Remove All on the top of the Stock Manager screen. This will clear the grid and ensure that unwanted items are not included in the edit.
  4. Click on Search.
  5. In the Advanced Stock Search screen, enter criteria to find the stock items to wish to edit. For example, select a Department and/or Category.
    Type an Asterisk * in the Keyword box to search for all stock items.

  6. Click Search. The Stock Manager grid will now display all stock items based on the search criteria.
  7. You can select (tick) specific items to work on, and filter the list on the screen. For more information on how to filter, click HERE.
  8. Click Edit Selected on the top of the Stock Manager screen.
  9. On the right-hand side of the Stock Manager screen, there is an option 'Barcode Style'. Click the drop-down arrow next to the Barcode Style option you wish to select the Barcode Style to use.
  10. Any changes will be highlighted in red. These will apply to ALL Stock Items selected in Stock Manager (also highlighted red).
  11. Click Save to apply the changes.
