How to Backup Your Retailer Data
- Close Retailer on ALL computers.
- On the SERVER/MAIN computer, plug in the USB drive.
- Double-click on the Retailer Backup icon on the desktop (Blue R)
- In Archive File, this is the location where the backup will be saved.
- Click the yellow folder 📁 icon to browse to the location to save the backup to.
- Down the left hand side, click This PC.
- Double click your USB drive.
- Enter a name for your backup, eg RetailerBackup
- Click Save.
- We recommend that you do not tick Format Backup Media prior to backup. This setting clears the entire USB drive before performing the backup.
- Tick Show last successful backup in Main Screen. This shows a message on the bottom right hand corner of Retailer saying when the last successful backup was.
- Click on Backup Now.
This can take some time, depending on the size of your database and the speed of your computer.] - When you see the Backup Completed Successfully screen, you may close Retailer Backup.

When creating a backup, Retailer saves the backup to C:\Tower\Retailer\AutoBackup and then copies that to the USB drive. This additional copy can then be accessed if the USB drive is faulty or missing.
As an alternative to manually backing up your data, you might consider our Cloud Backup service.
