Spellcheck in Retailer

Spellcheck in Retailer

New to Retailer 3.4.3, Retailer will now check spelling on Text Entry fields. Words not recognised by the dictionary will be underlined Red.
There is also an AutoCorrect feature to automatically fix typo mistakes.

Enforce Spelling Check on Save

With this setting enabled, Retailer will prompt to correct any spelling mistakes when clicking Save/Ok
  1. From the Main Screen of Retailer, click Setup → System
  2. Click the Other tab
  3. Tick Spelling Dictionary
  4. Click Save
When saving, a spelling prompt will appear for any words with spelling mistakes or that are not in the dictionary
A 'The spelling check is complete' prompt will appear once all words are checked

Turn off Spelling Check prompt

To turn off the prompt 'The spelling check is complete':
  1. From the Main Screen of Retailer, click Setup → System
  2. Click the Other tab
  3. Untick Spelling Dictionary
  4. Click Save
Words with spelling mistakes or typos will still be underlined red, and common spelling errors will still be auto-corrected, but you will no longer be prompted to fix incorrect words.

Spellcheck Options

  1. From the Main Screen of Retailer, click Setup → System
  2. Click the Other tab
  3. Click Dictionary Settings then Spelling Options
  4. The following options are available:
    1. Ignore words in UPPERCASE

    4. Ignore repeated words
    5. Ignore e-mails
    6. Ignore web sites

Override AutoCorrect

With AutoCorrect enabled, Retailer will attempt to match the typed word with those in the Retailer Dictionary. If a close match is found, the typed word will be corrected to the match.
To undo a correction, press CTRL + Z on the keyboard. Use the Right Arrow button on the keyboard to move to the next word without pressing [Space] to continue typing.
To stop AutoCorrecting a word, right click the word when underlined Red and click Add. This will add the word to the Retailer Dictionary and will stop AutoCorrecting this word in future.

Turn off Autocorrect

To prevent the system from attempting to autocorrect spelling mistakes:
  1. From the Main Screen of Retailer, click Setup → System
  2. Click the Other tab
  3. Click Dictionary Settings, then AutoCorrect Options
  4. Untick Automatically Use Suggestions from the Spelling Checker
  5. Click OK
Words with spelling mistakes or typos will still be underlined red but it is up to the user to fix the spelling or ignore it.
Info
You can also turn off the automatic capitalisation of words from the same AutoCorrect Options screen.
