Show Notes When Stock Items are Scanned in POS

Companion Text can be used to display a message to staff on the Point of Sale screen when an item is scanned. This helps remind staff to upsell products, follow special instructions, etc.

The Companion Text appear beneath the sales footer (sales totals).

Stock item Companion Text can be set in bulk using the Stock Manager. See Making Bulk Changes Through Stock Manager.

Enable or Disable Companion Text to Show in the POS Screen

  1. On the top menu bar of Retailer, click on Setup → System.
  2. Click on the Stock tab.
  3. Tick or untick Show Companion Stock Details.
  4. Click Save and then Close.

Enter Companion Text on Each Stock Item

  1. On the main screen of Retailer, click on Stock → Stock Screen.
    Alternatively, on the top menu bar of Retailer, click on Stock Maintenance → Stock Screen.
  2. Click on the magnifying glass button 🔎︎ to access the Find Stock Screen.
  3. Search for and select the particular stock item, then click the OK button.
  4. Click on the Other tab.
  5. In the Companion Text box, type the message you want to display on the POS screen when the item is scanned.
  6. Click Save.
