This facility allows Multi store users to trade using Point of Sale when the Internet connection is down or faulty. Users can set up automatic download frequency for data synchronising between Server and Local PC.

In MS Outpost mode you can only perform Cash Sale transactions meaning sales for items/goods. Many other features are absent. For more information click HERE.
Prerequisites
- Users have to be using Multi Store.
- Internet connection must be available for download/upload of Outpost Data.
- Remote Desktop needs to be able to access local drives.
- Right-click on your icon to connect to the server and click Edit.
- Click on Options and then Local Resources.
- Click on More and tick Drives.
- Click OK then click on the General tab and click Save.
Setting up MS Outpost Data Creation on Server.
- From the main screen of Retailer, go to Setup -> Multi-Store.
- Click on the Download Settings.
- Click on Turn on MS Outpost Mode.
- In MS Outpost Data will be Created Daily at, you will have to input desired time.
- In Terminal to Setup, please select the terminal you would like to perform the download Outpost file.
- Be default, download path is to \\tsclient\C:\Tower\Retailer\Data. If you wish to change the path, please click on the yellow folder icon.
- In Download Frequency, select type of frequency and set your desired time to Begin downloads at. Each computer should be setup with a different time during the day.
- Click on Save and click on Close.
Starting MS Outpost on Local PC.
Ensure you have installed the same version of Retailer on local PCs as the one on the server.
- Download and install Retailer on the POS PC. See Installing Retailer Updates or Installing and Opening Retailer on your Server
- When prompted, click Yes to This is the server?
- When prompted, choose Create Blank Data.
- From the desktop, open RetailerV3 Backup (Blue R)
- Click on Settings and click on the Database Settings.
- Untick This is the server. Click on Save.
- Click on Utilities and then select Outpost.
- Click on Turn on Outpost . A confirmation message will appear. Click on Yes.
- A Find the Outpost Data screen will appear. By default, the file will be located in C:\Tower\Retailer\Data.
- You will see OP_SERVER_*.ZIP file. Select the latest file. Data will be extracted and then a Check Tables will run.
- Once this is finished, a Terminal selection screen will appear. Select the terminal name from the list.
- A Check Time and Date screen will appear. Please confirm the time and date and click OK.
