This advice sheet details a step-by-step guide on how to download and install the latest version of the Retailer software.

Downloading the Installation File

  1. Exit Retailer on ALL computers and start with the MAIN computer.
  2. Go to the Tower Systems website ( and log in using your Tower Advantage username and password.
  3. Click on the Downloads on the left of the page. Click Here to download the Current Version
  4. Find the Retailer version that is labelled Current Version and click on it.
  5. You will be taken to a new webpage with instructions to follow.
  6. The file will then download. This can take up to 10 minutes.

If you don't know your username you will need to contactTower Support 

Installing Retailer Update

  1. Run the file. You may have to press [Ctrl]+[J] and double-click on the installation file.
  2. The first screen displays information about the update. Click Next.
  3. The second screen prompts for the destination of the installation. Make sure it shows C:\Tower\Retailer and click Next.
  4. The installation will begin and will go through a number of processes.
  5. Once the installation is done, click on Finish.
Repeat the process on EVERY computer that uses Retailer. The installation process will be significantly quicker on other computers compared with the Main.
All your computers MUST run the same version of Retailer or you will get numerous errors while using the program.
