Thank you for purchasing a
computer from Tower Systems.
To help your installation go smoothly and avoid delays, please complete the
steps below before your scheduled installation time.
Because your new computer
has never been turned on, Windows needs to be set up for the first time. This
includes installing Windows updates, which can take 30–40 minutes. We
can’t begin installing your software until this is finished.
✅ Important tip
If possible, set up the new
computer in a spare location so you can continue using your
existing computer until installation is complete.
Step 1: Connect and power
on
Connect
the power, keyboard, mouse, and screen.
Connect
to the internet:
Ethernet: connect an Ethernet cable to your PC. This is the preferred method
Wi-fi: connect to your Wi-Fi network. You will need your Wi-Fi username and password. Not all computers supplied by Tower Systems come with Wi-Fi connect to a network.
Turn
the computer on.
Step 2: Windows setup –
what to select
You’ll be guided through the
Windows setup screens. Please choose the following options:
Country
or region: Australia → Yes
Keyboard
layout: English (US) → Yes
Add a
second keyboard layout? Skip
Step 3: Connect to the
internet & install updates
If
already connected to the internet, Windows will begin installing updates
automatically.
If not,
you’ll see “Let’s connect you to a network”:
👉 Important: Leave the computer turned on while updates
install.
Step 4: Continue Windows
setup
After updates, continue with
the following selections:
Licence
agreement: Accept
Name
your device: Skip for now
(Your installation specialist will name it correctly later)
How
would you like to set up this device?
Setup for Work or School
Click
on the Sign-in options (normally located on the right-hand side)
Who is going to use this device?
Enter:
MAIN1 (if
replacing a main/server computer)
POS01
/ POS02 (if replacing a POS)
USER (if
unsure – we’ll fix this during installation)
Step 5: Password &
privacy
Create
a password: Leave blank and click Next
(Or create one if you prefer, noting it will be required each time the
PC starts)
Privacy
settings: Accept all
Step 6: Warranty screen
Step 7: Final updates
Windows will check for and
install any remaining updates.
Once finished, you should see the Windows desktop.

through connecting remotely and completing the setup.
