First Start-Up of your Tower Systems Computer

First Start-Up of your Tower Systems Computer

Thank you for purchasing a computer from Tower Systems.
To help your installation go smoothly and avoid delays, please complete the steps below
before your scheduled installation time.

Because your new computer has never been turned on, Windows needs to be set up for the first time. This includes installing Windows updates, which can take 30–40 minutes. We can’t begin installing your software until this is finished.

✅ Important tip

If possible, set up the new computer in a spare location so you can continue using your existing computer until installation is complete.

Step 1: Connect and power on

  1. Connect the power, keyboard, mouse, and screen.
  2. Connect to the internet:
    • Ethernet: connect an Ethernet cable to your PC. This is the preferred method
    • Wi-fi: connect to your Wi-Fi network. You will need your Wi-Fi username and password. Not all computers supplied by Tower Systems come with Wi-Fi connect to a network.
  1. Turn the computer on.

Step 2: Windows setup – what to select

You’ll be guided through the Windows setup screens. Please choose the following options:

  • Country or region: Australia → Yes
  • Keyboard layout: English (US) → Yes
  • Add a second keyboard layout? Skip

Step 3: Connect to the internet & install updates

  • If already connected to the internet, Windows will begin installing updates automatically.
  • If not, you’ll see “Let’s connect you to a network”:
    • Plug in an Ethernet cable or
    • Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password

👉 Important: Leave the computer turned on while updates install.

Step 4: Continue Windows setup

After updates, continue with the following selections:

  • Licence agreement: Accept
  • Name your device: Skip for now
(Your installation specialist will name it correctly later)
  • How would you like to set up this device?
    Setup for
    Work or School
  • Click on the Sign-in options (normally located on the right-hand side)
    • Click on Domain Join Instead
  • Who is going to use this device?
    Enter:
    • MAIN1 (if replacing a main/server computer)
    • POS01 / POS02 (if replacing a POS)
    • USER (if unsure – we’ll fix this during installation)

Step 5: Password & privacy

  • Create a password: Leave blank and click Next
(Or create one if you prefer, noting it will be required each time the PC starts)
  • Privacy settings: Accept all

Step 6: Warranty screen

  • When prompted to protect your device, click Skip
Your Tower Systems computer already includes a
    manufacturer’s warranty (1–3 years).
You don’t need to register anything here.

Step 7: Final updates

Windows will check for and install any remaining updates.
Once finished, you should see the
Windows desktop.

🎉 That’s it!
Your computer is now ready for our installation specialist, who will guide you through connecting remotely and completing the setup.

If you have any issues along the way, please let us know — we’re happy to help.
