The staff login feature can be used as an alternative to staff initials in situations where you have ONE staff member using the SAME terminal for their ENTIRE shift. All transactions will be logged as that staff member during the session.
This advice sheet assumes you already have staff initials set up. Click HERE for more information on adding staff initials.
Setting PIN Numbers
- On the top menu bar of Retailer, click on Setup -> General.
- Click on the Staff tab.
- Select a staff member’s name and click on Set Pin on the top right.
- Type in a PIN for this staff member to use. There is no minimum number but make sure it is not the same PIN as any other staff member. It will stop any duplicate PINs.
- Repeat the same PIN in the next box.
- Click OK.
- Repeat the above using a different PIN for each staff member.
- Click on Close.
If you have already turned on Staff Logins (see below), you will need to enter your own initials and PIN before you can change another staff member's PIN. Your security level must also be set to High; this can also be changed in Setup -> General -> Staff
Activating Staff Logins
Once the PIN numbers have been set, we then need to enable the staff login function.
- From the top menu bar of Retailer, click on Setup -> System.
- Click on the General tab.
- Near the top right, tick Use Staff Logins.
- Click Save.
Close and reopen Retailer for the changes to take effect. You will be prompted for initials and a PIN when Retailer is opened. To swap between staff, close and re-open Retailer.
