Audience: Prospective customers who want to evaluate Tower Systems point of sale (POS) software.
Tower Systems does not offer a free trial or a self-serve demo version of its POS software that you download and configure yourself. Instead, we provide tailored live demonstrations, run online by our sales team over Microsoft Teams, at a time that suits you, as many times as you want, and recorded so you can review them afterwards. Because they are online, several people can join from different locations. Each demonstration is free, carries no obligation, and is set up around your type of business. You can also watch recorded demonstrations on our YouTube channel without giving any personal details. To book a demonstration, call
1300 662 957 (Australia) or
0800 444 367 (New Zealand), or email
sales@towersystems.com.au.
Is there a free trial or demo version of the software?
No. Tower Systems does not provide a free trial or a self-serve demo version of the software that you install and set up yourself. Instead, our sales team gives you a live demonstration, configured to your business, and you can have as many demonstrations as you need. Each one is recorded, and we make the recording available to you afterwards. A demonstration can be tailored to show the kind of data your particular business would use.
Why doesn't Tower Systems offer a trial or demo version?
Many years ago, Tower Systems did offer a demo version, and it rarely led to a sale. We researched why. We found that prospects were not configuring the software for their own needs, so they never saw how well it could work for their business. A live demonstration, set up by us for your business, shows the software at its best.
Why doesn't a self-serve demo version suit this kind of software?
Tower Systems makes vertical market software — software built for very specific retail trades — and it is highly configurable for each business. The way a jeweller uses the software is quite different from the way a garden centre uses it. To test the software properly in a trial, each of those businesses would first have to configure it for their own needs, and that is the step prospects told us they could not do well on their own.
What is the difference between a demo version and a live demonstration?
A demo version is a copy of the software you would run and configure yourself — meaning you need to learn the configuration settings before you could set it up for your business. A live demonstration is run by us, with that configuration already done for you. Before we start, we ask about your business, your workflow, and your requirements. We then set up our own copy of the software so the demonstration matches your specific needs.
During a live demonstration you are completely in control of what you see and where you go in the software. Nothing is hidden from you.
Is the demonstration free, and is there any obligation?
Yes. The demonstration is free and carries no obligation, and you decide whether to take things any further afterwards.
Do I have to sign anything or pay a deposit to book a demonstration?
No. There is nothing to sign and no deposit to pay. Every demonstration is free.
Do you come to our business to run the demonstration?
No. We run every demonstration online, using Microsoft Teams, at a time that suits you. Because it is online, you can have several people join from different locations, so everyone who needs to see the software can be part of the same demonstration.
How soon can I get a demonstration, and how do I pick a time?
You can book online right now using our calendar to choose a time. A good approach is to book a brief session first to discuss your needs — that lets us configure the software for your business and schedule a longer time for the full demonstration.
Who runs the demonstration, and will they understand my trade?
Our demonstrations are run by skilled salespeople from our own team. Each of them has experience installing the software in businesses and training customers, and they bring that real-world expertise to the demonstration.
What should I prepare beforehand to get the most from it?
Have a list of your requirements ready. No one knows your business better than you. We do not assume anything and rely completely on what you tell us, so the more you can describe about how your business works, the more useful the demonstration will be.
Can I choose what the demonstration covers?
Yes. You are completely in control of what is demonstrated. You can ask to see a specific feature, a particular integration such as Shopify or Xero, the hardware, or anything else that matters to your business.
How long can a demonstration last?
A demonstration can run for as long as you want, until you have seen everything you need to see. Some demonstrations run for twenty minutes, and some run for four hours. Some prospects have had as many as five separate demonstrations.
Is the demonstration recorded?
Yes. Every demonstration is recorded by default, and we make the recording available to you afterwards so you can review it or share it with others in your business.
Will Tower Systems demonstrate the software using my own data?
Yes, provided your data is readily available and in a form we can import. For stock, send a spreadsheet with the SKU (stock-keeping unit), barcode, and description, plus product images and tags if you have them. For customers, send name, address, email, and phone. Send us spreadsheets of whatever you have, and we will do our best to use them so you see the software working with information you recognise.
Will I be shown pricing, or pushed to buy on the day?
Our pricing is public and available to anyone at
towersystems.com.au/pricing.html, so you can review it before or after a demonstration. We are not a pressure company. The demonstration is there to help you decide, not to push you into a sale.
Is the demonstration available outside normal business hours?
Often, yes. Some owners can only step away after the shop closes, and a demonstration outside normal hours can usually be arranged. It is best to ask, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
What are the next steps after a demonstration?
That is completely up to you. You can take time to think about what you have seen, ask for an order form, or book a follow-up demonstration if you have further questions. There is no pressure to decide on the day.
Is there another way to see the software?
Yes. You can watch recordings of demonstrations for different trades on the Tower Systems YouTube channel:
youtube.com/@TowerSystemsPOS/videos. These videos are publicly available, and you do not need to provide any personal details to watch them.
What if I still want a trial or demo version after a demonstration?
If you believe a trial or demo version is essential for your evaluation, explain why to your Tower Systems sales representative. They can take the request to management for further consideration.
How do I book a demonstration?
To see Tower Systems in action, book an obligation-free demonstration, run online over Microsoft Teams at a time that suits you. Contact the sales team:
If we decide during the conversation that the software is not the right fit for your business, we will say so and wish you well.
