To edit the email subject or body sent from Point of Sale email receipts, there are two methods to access the email template settings.

Through Mail Queue Setup

  1. On the top menu bar of Retailer, click on Setup → Mail Queue.
  2. Click the Mapping button in the Account Settings window.
  3. In the 'View Template' column, click the '...' symbol for the type of receipt email you want to edit.

Through Report Mapping

  1. On the top menu bar of Retailer, click on Setup → Point Of Sale.
  2. Select the Terminals tab at the top.
  3. Select the Report Mapping tab from the second row of tabs near the centre of the window.
  4. Find the Report Type you would like to edit the email for.
  5. Right-click in the Printer box, where it says Email Customers via Retailer.
If there is no entry for Email Customers via Retailer:
    1. Find the Report Type you wish to change the Email Template for.
    2. Take note of the current setting for the Printer column.
    3. Click the printer name, then use the drop-down arrow to select Email Customers via Retailer from the list.
    4. Click the green tick ✅ in the bottom left to save.
    5. Then right-click Email Customers via Retailer and click Edit Email Template.
    6. The Edit Email Template editor will open. Continue from Step 7 below.
    7. When you have finished editing the Email Template, change the Printer column back to its original printer name.
  6. Select Edit Email Template.

Editing the Email Template

  1. In the pop-up window, you can click Edit Email Subject to change the email's subject or Edit Email Body to change the message body.
  2. A rich text editor window will appear, allowing you to make simple and complex changes that can be reflected in real-time. Using the editor is beyond the scope of Tower Support. Here are a few tips for making changes:
    1. There are fields you can add to the report, such as 'Full Name' or 'Stamp', that will update automatically to match the receipt. To add one of these fields, click Merge, then Insert Merge Field.
    2. You can click Insert, then either Picture or Inline Picture to add an image (eg, store logo) to your email. 'Picture' allows the image to be freely moved about, while 'Inline Picture' adds it as part of the text formatting.
    3. If you click View, then Convert to HTML, the editor will change to show the HTML formatting. You may be able to ask an AI to create a format for you in HTML, which you could then paste here.
  3. Once all changes have been made, click OK. You can click Cancel at any time to revert your changes
Notes
The Email Subject and Body can be changed for each report type separately.
