If a customer changes their mind about a layby or you have made an error when adding a layby, follow the steps below to cancel the layby.
To begin cancelling a Layby, you need to first access the Layby Management screen through one of the following options:
- From the main screen of Retailer, click on Tasks -> Layby Management.
- From the Point of Sale screen, click on [Ctrl]+[C] on your keyboard and select the customer.
Once a layby has been cancelled, previous payments can be applied in the following ways:
- Layby Prepayment
- Gift Voucher
- Cash/EFTPOS Refund

Once the Cancellation button is pressed, the system will already start doing some of the cancellations. You should be absolutely sure about cancelling, and once started, the process must be finished to the end. Stopping the process halfway, will create issues with layby and amounts won't add up correctly.
Cancel and Create a Layby Prepayment
- From the Layby Management screen, click on Layby Cancellation.
- This will take you to the Point of Sale screen with the layby items listed.
- Click on Sub Total or End Sale.
- Select Create a Layby Prepayment for $...
- Enter a description in Prepay Stock Description.
- Click OK

- From the Layby Management screen, click on Layby Cancellation.
- This will take you to the Point of Sale screen with the Layby items listed.
- Click on Sub Total or End Sale.
- Select Refund the Layby credit balance worth $...
- Select the Cancellation Fee Type and the Cancellation Fee amount (optional).
For more information about layby cancellation fees, click HERE. - Select Convert Layby Credit of $... to a Gift Voucher.
- Click Yes to confirm the action.
- A gift voucher will print out for the amount specified.
Cancel and Refund Payments
- From the Layby Management screen, click on Layby Cancellation.
- This will take you to the Point of Sale screen with the Layby items listed.
- Click on Sub Total or End Sale.
- Select Refund the Layby credit balance worth $...
- Select the Cancellation Fee Type and the Cancellation Fee amount (optional).

- Click Yes to confirm the action.
- Select the Payment Type and click OK.
