This article explains what data is exported from Retailer and what field it will appear as within Woo Commerce.

To configure the link please see Setting up a new Webstore

Products

Products that have Webstore Product ticked will be sent to Woo Commerce with the following information:

  1. Description as Product Short Description in Woo Commerce
  2. Web Description (On the extra details tab) as Extended Description in Woo Commerce
  3. Web Price as Price
  4. Barcode as SKU
  5. A tag of "Retailer product" will be added to all items created
  6. Images will also be exported

Departments And Categories

WooCommerce also supports the Retailer Department and Category Structure.  In Woo, these are called Product Categories and you do have some options as to how these are synchronised.  The Woolink also has an option to delete any department and categories that are not found, so please be careful if this option is chosen.

  1. Option One: Synchronise Both Departments and Categories
This is the default option in the Woo link.  It will add the existing department and category in the same hierarchy as existing in Retailer and products will be assigned.
  2. Option two: Do not synchronise Categories
If this option to not synchronise categories is chosen, all products will by synchronised to their base departments and no categories will be added to the site.
  3. Option three: Self-Managed Categories
This is the least popular but may be necessary if you have an existing store and do not want to change the current structure. If this option is selected then products will be added without a category.  There will then be a need to allocate them once they have been added to the site via the link.
In Woo, Mapping Departments and Categories is purely done by name only, so there are no additional mapping fields needed if the names of the departments or categories match.

Variants

Variants information will be sent to Woo Commerce.

For more information see Variants (Colour, Size and Style)

In addition to the information in the above link, if any item in a variant group is ticked for Web Store, all its variants will be.

Also any variant ticked as Webstore cannot have a blank variant value.

To change an existing item from a normal stock item to a variant, it needs to be deleted off the website and then re-created by the link.

Due to the nature of the connection, variant types will be ordered by the length of the variant name.
E.g. Item with
Colour
Size
Style
will have variants rearranged as (shortest name first)
Size
Style
Colour

If you want to maintain the original order, you can change the variant names to be more descriptive (make some longer).
Colour
Shirt Size
Fashion Style

Classifications

In Woo Commerce, classifications are imported as product attributes.  The Classification templates are attribute sets and the classifications are attributes.  These are imported and assigned to products. You also have options to not import these and self-manage if desired.

Customers

Customer information isn't uploaded or synced from Retailer to WooCommerce.
Most customer information recorded on the sale in WooCommerce, will be added to Retailer when the sale imports into Retailer. This will generally be names, addresses and contact details.
The customer will be added as new, if the email address against the sale is not recorded in Retailer.
The loyalty program, discount voucher, gift voucher and discount profiles information, is not synced or tracked with WooCommerce.
