In Retailer 3, you may sometimes come across something showing a Fatal Error.
Take note of any important information on your screen involving the work you were doing (e.g. invoice number, stock item being worked on, repair number).
To resolve the Fatal Error, you must close Retailer, and reopen it on that terminal.
If you are unable to close Retailer normally, do the following.
- Right-click on the time in the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Click on Task Manager or Start Task Manager.
- Click on the Processes tab.
- Look through the list and find Retailer Application (32 bit), click on it.
- Then, click on End Task or End Process.
If other errors appear on reopening Retailer, you will need to close Retailer and reopen again.
Then, contact the support help desk with as much information regarding the cause of the error as possible. Ideally, we can replicate the steps to cause the error every time.
If Fatal Errors continue or appear on multiple terminals, you may need to restart the database on the Main/Server PC.
- On the Main/Server PC. Open Retailer Backup (Blue R)
- On the left hand side click Settings then Database Settings. If This is the Server is unticked, This is not the Main/Server PC. Try a different PC.
- Click Restart Engine on the left hand side.
- A Stopping Database Engine and Starting Database message will flash on the screen. Once done, close Retailer Backup and reopen Retailer
