Visibility and Security

The Visibility & Security utility controls password access to different areas of the system. You may have three levels of passwords in retailer as discussed HERE. There are hundreds of options in Retailer to control who has access to what in the system. This access is based on security levels.

Setting Security Levels in Retailer 

1. From the Main Screen, click on Utilities -> Visibility & Security.
2. You will be asked for your Level D password. Enter it here.
3. You will be shown a grid showing all of the areas of Retailer that can be password protected.
   Note: There are a few items that can’t be changed from Level D.
4. Find an area that you wish to password protect in the grid. In the right-most column, change the Security Level to the level you desire.
5. If you want to change a group of areas to the same level, you can click on the first of the group and, while holding down Ctrl on the keyboard, click on the others. Then just choose the new security level (on the bottom right) for those areas and press Save.

An easy way to find the area you want to change, (if it already has a password on it) is to go to that area and you will be prompted to enter the password. At the top of that screen, it will show a number in brackets, and the name of the area, eg. (15) Setup POS. The 15 is the area number which you will see in the Visibility & Security screen, and Setup POS is the area description.
