Using AI to write Blog Posts for website

Retailer has the ability to use Artificial Intelligence (ChatGPT or Google Gemini) to write Blog Posts for your website.

Setup

  1. Provider
    1. Choose OpenAI or Google Gemini depending on which provider you want to use
  2. Model: Changes which AI model/engine is used to read the invoice. If the AI seems to be struggling to generate a blog post, you can try changing the model here. The following models are good at generating blog posts
    1. OpenAI (ChatGPT)
      1. gpt-5-mini, gpt-4.1 or gpt-4o 
    2. Google Gemini
      1. models/gemini-2.5-pro or models/gemini-2.5-flash 
  3. Use Structured Response: must be enabled 
  4. Temp
    1. The Temperature (Temp) setting determines how creative the AI Model should be.
    2. The Range is 0 (not creative) to 2 (more creative, varied response)
    3. Must be 1 for the latest models such as gpt-5-mini or gemini-2.5-pro
    4. Not applicable for older models

Customise Prompt

The Prompt is the instructions given to the AI that tell the AI what to do. The Prompt can be customised to alter the tone, writing style, structure or to include specific information.
There are two places where the Prompt can be customised:

AI Setup screen
  1. From the Main Screen of Retailer, click Setup → AI.
  2. In the Prompt Type column, click Stock Blog Post.
  3. The Prompt can be edited on the right hand side.
  4. Click Save when done
Stock Item Blog Posts screen (recommended)
  1. From the Main Screen of Retailer, click Stock Maintenance → Stock Item Blog Posts.
  2. The Prompt can be edited on the left hand side.
  3. Click Generate Blog Post to Save and Test your changes.
  4. Click the Reset button if you wish to revert to the default prompt.
IdeaClick and drag the vertical ellipsis ⋮ button to increase the text box width for easier editing.
Alert
The first paragraph of the prompt should not be changed.
Add or edit the prompt using plain English to alter the output of the AI. Some example changes you may wish to make are:
  1. Create a keyword-rich title.
  2. Maintain a professional tone.
  3. Use Australian spelling

Create a Blog Post

  1. From the Main Screen of Retailer, click Stock Maintenance → Stock Item Blog Posts.
  2. Click Add New in bottom left corner
  3. Click into Barcode box in top left. Scan a Barcode or press Enter to open Find Stock Screen and search for a product
  4. Down the left hand side, click the down arrow ▼ next to Item Details to Include. Untick any information you don't wish to send to the AI
  5. Down the left hand side, click Generate Blog Post.
  6. The AI will then use the product information to generate a Blog Post.
  7. You can then make any changes you wish to the Blog Title or Blog Text.
  8. If the product has an Image in Retailer, it will be added in the bottom left corner. Click Load if you wish to add a different image to the Blog Post
  9. Click Save.

Edit Existing Blog Post

  1. From the Main Screen of Retailer, click Stock Maintenance → Stock Item Blog Posts.
  2. In the top left corner, click Find Blog Post.
  3. You can then search by Barcode, Description or Blog Title
  4. Select the Blog Post and click 'OK'
  5. You can then make changes to the Blog Post. Remember to click Save

Upload Blog Post

  1. From the Main Screen of Retailer, click Stock Maintenance → Stock Item Blog Posts.
  2. In the top left corner, click Find Blog Post
  3. You can then search by Barcode, Description or Blog Title
  4. Select the Blog Post and click 'OK'
  5. Click Upload Blog Post in the bottom right corner
