Subagents are other businesses within your area that also sell magazines and newspapers which are supplied by your business. The following advice sheet will run you through the initial setup of the subagent and how to create their standing orders.
Setting Up a Subagent
- From the main screen of Retailer, click on Customers.
- Click on the Add button in the bottom left hand corner of the customer screen.
- Fill out the details for the business in the customer screen.
- Tick the Subagent tick-box on the top-right section.
- Click Save.
- Click the Other tab at the bottom left, and change the Aging Type to 7 days.
- Click on Orders on the bottom and the Subagent Orders screen will appear.
- Click on the Subagent Details tab.
- Ensure the start date is set correctly and the end date should be set to 31/12/2100.
- You can now set discount amounts for Newspapers, Magazines and Transactions. These are used when creating orders for the subagent.
NOTE: The Transactions discount will apply to any items without a standing order that are invoiced/booked up to the subagent. - Type in an abbreviation that will appear on their barcode labels. (Optional)
- Select whether or not to Charge or Don't Charge the subagent.
- You can assign the Subagent an account number in the Account Number field, which will appear on the statement.
- Next you need to select how you wish to process Subagent invoices/book ups.
- For each one create an Invoice Sale only -> This will create an invoice in the customer screen.
- Split as Invoice Sale and Subagent Orders -> This will create an invoice for items not in Standing Orders and create an entry in the Subagent Orders grid for items that are.
- Add to Subagent Orders only -> This will only add an entry to the Subagent Orders grid.
- Next you can set the recommendations.
- Select the time period (in weeks) to calculate the recommendations from.
- Choose the Extra % that will you can add as a buffer on top of those recommendations.
- If you don't use these options, set them both to 10.
- Click Save.
Creating Standing Orders
Standing orders are the titles your Subagent receives on a regular basis. By setting them up as standing orders you will not have to manually add the orders every week.
