Manual webstore

This article is for a manual webstore link that will export a .csv file of stock via FTP.
For webstore setup to Shopify, Woo Commerce or Magento please use Setting Up Web Store
Our Web Store module is a link that allows you to connect your ecommerce online store with Retailer to sync stock, customers and sales. Through our export and import process you will be able to bring across all data on a daily basis.

Active Tower Advantage Support is required to use webstore. Contact Support@towersystems.com.au to have the webstore enabled if you don't already have the option.

This article is divided into the following sections: 

  • Schedule - This section sets up the frequency and method for exporting data from Retailer to your online store.
  • Stock - This section sets up how stock items are imported into and exported from Retailer.
  • Customer -This section sets up how customers are imported into and exported from Retailer.
  • Sales - This section sets up how sales are imported into and exported from Retailer.

Setting Up Schedules

  1. On the top menu bar of Retailer, click on Tasks -> Web Store Import/Export.
  2. In the Schedule section on the left panel, click on Schedule Options.
    • In Frequency to run export, select how often you'd like the export to occur.
      • If you selected Weekly, select the days on which the exports occur.
      • If you selected Monthly, select which day of the month the exports occur.
    • In Begin exports at, set the time at which the exports occur.
    • In Exports to perform on this schedule, select between Export StockExport Customers or both.
    • The Last Download field shows the last time an export occurred.
    • Click Save.
  3. In the Schedule section on the left panel, click on FTP Options.
    • In Export Method, select how the data will be exported.
      • Follow the instructions HERE to configure the settings for FTP or email.
    • In Select folder to export files to, type in the location where the files will be exported to. Alternatively, click on the yellow folder icon and browse to the location.
    • Click Save.

Setting Up Stock

  1. On the top menu bar of Retailer, click on Tasks -> Web Store Import/Export.
  2. In the Stock section on the left panel, click on Stock Options.
    • Tick Export Web Store stock only if you want to export only stock marked as Web Store Stock.
    • Tick Export classifications if you want to export stock along with their classifications.
    • Tick Include column headers in exported file if you want a header in the first row of the file.
    • Tick Export images if you want to export images linked to stock items.
    • (For multi-store only) Select between exporting from all stores or just certain stores.
      • If you selected Export stock from selected stores, click on the store from which you want to export stock from.
      • To select multiple stores, hold down to [Ctrl] key as you click on stores.
    • Click Save.
  3. In the Stock section on the left panel, click on Stock Import.
    • On the left panel, double-click on the types of information that you want to include in the exported file.
    • Once you have finished selecting, you can move the column positions by selecting the field on the right panel and clicking on the up or down arrow buttons.
    • In File Format, select between exporting as a Text File *.txt or a CSV File *.csv.
    • In File Options, tick Comma-delimited if you want each column in the file to be separated by a comma.
    • Click Save.
  4. In the Stock section on the left panel, click on Stock Export.
    • On the left panel, double-click on the types of information that you want to include in the exported file.
    • Once you have finished selecting, you can move the column positions by selecting the field on the right panel and clicking on the up or down arrow buttons.
    • In File Format, select between exporting as a Text File *.txt or a CSV File *.csv.
    • In File Options:
      • Tick Comma-delimited if you want each column in the file to be separated by a comma.
      • Tick Enclose string fields in Quotes if you want fields with words to be surrounded by quotes.
    • Click Save.
  5. In the Stock section on the left panel, click on Stock Options.
    • In the Import Options section:
      • Select the fields that are overwritten when stock items are imported into Retailer.
      • Tick Convert descriptions to uppercase if you want descriptions for imported stock items to be converted to uppercase.
      • Enter the number of lines in the header of the imported file from your online store.
    • Click Save.

Setting Up Customers

  1. On the top menu bar of Retailer, click on Tasks -> Web Store Import/Export.
  2. In the Customer section on the left panel, click on Customer Options.
    • Tick Export Web Store customers only if you want to export only customers marked as Web Store Customer.
    • Tick Include column headers in exported file if you want a header in the first row of the file.
    • (For multi-store only) Select between exporting from all stores or just certain stores.
      • If you selected Export customers from selected stores, click on the store from which you want to export stock from.
      • To select multiple stores, hold down to [Ctrl] key as you click on stores.
    • Click Save.
  3. In the Customer section on the left panel, click on Customer Import.
    • On the left panel, double-click on the types of information that you want to include in the exported file.
    • Once you have finished selecting, you can move the column positions by selecting the field on the right panel and clicking on the up or down arrow buttons.
    • In File Format, select between exporting as a Text File *.txt or a CSV File *.csv.
    • In File Options, tick Comma-delimited if you want each column in the file to be separated by a comma.
    • Click Save.
  4. In the Customer section on the left panel, click on Customer Export.
    • On the left panel, double-click on the types of information that you want to include in the exported file.
    • Once you have finished selecting, you can move the column positions by selecting the field on the right panel and clicking on the up or down arrow buttons.
    • In File Format, select between exporting as a Text File *.txt or a CSV File *.csv.
    • In File Options:

  5. In the Customer section on the left panel, click on Customer Options.
    • In the Import Options section:
      • Select the fields that are overwritten when stock items are imported into Retailer.

Setting Up Sales

  1. On the top menu bar of Retailer, click on Tasks -> Web Store Import/Export.
  2. In the Sales section on the left panel, click on Sales Options.
    • Tick Add all Web Store sales to Customer Number if you want all your online store sales to be allocated to a specified customer.
    • In Web Store Location, select the name of the Web Store in Retailer.
    • Click on the Link unlinked sales to customer button if you had sales on your online store for a customer who was not in Retailer at the time, and you have since added the customer in Retailer. This will go through the process of linking those sales to the intended customer in Retailer.
    • Click Save.
  3. In the Sales section on the left panel, click on Sales Import.
    • On the left panel, double-click on the types of information that you want to include in the exported file.
    • Once you have finished selecting, you can move the column positions by selecting the field on the right panel and clicking on the up or down arrow buttons.
    • In File Format, select between exporting as a Text File *.txt or a CSV File *.csv.
    • In File Options, tick Comma-delimited if you want each column in the file to be separated by a comma.
    • Click Save.
