Retailer allows you to add, remove and replace items on an existing layby.

To begin, you need to first access the Layby Management screen through one of the following options:

  • From the main screen of Retailer, click on  Tasks  ->  Layby Management
  • From the Point of Sale screen, click on [Ctrl]+[C] on your keyboard and select the customer
It's important that the layby always has at least one item, and that the balance paid never exceeds the total amount of the layby at any point. Consider cancelling the layby and redoing it.
If you need to apply a discount onto an existing layby, it's best to remove the item and add it back onto the layby, setting the sell price at that time. But be absolutely sure that the layby paid amount so far will not exceed the layby total value at any point.

Adding Items

  1. In the Stock Items section, click on the Add   button.
  2. In the Select Stock and Price screen:
    • Type or scan the item's barcode or press [Enter] to open the Find Stock Screen and select the item
    • Enter the quantity of the item
    • Enter the selling price of the item (per item)
  3. Click on  OK  and then click on  Save

Removing Items

  1. In the Stock Items section, click on the item that you would like to remove from the layby.
  2. Click on the Delete  button.
  3. Click  Yes  to confirm deleting the item.
  4. Enter your Staff Initials and click  OK .
  5. Click on Save.

Replacing Items

Make sure to add the new item(s) BEFORE removing the old item(s).
  1. Add the new item to the layby
  2. Delete the old item from the layby
  3. If payments made are more than the total amount of the new layby, Retailer will provide several options to deal with the extra payments:
    • Create a layby prepayment
    • Create a gift voucher
    • Refund as cash/EFTPOS
