Importing a Customer File

Importing a Customer File

The Import Customer File utility can be used to import new customers.
Existing Customers cannot be updated by this utility
  1. From the Main Screen of Retailer, click Utilities -> Import / Export Files -> Import Customer File
  2. In Customer File Type, enter a name for the Customer File template. If the template has previously been created, select it from the list.
  3. If you wish for all details to be uppercase (NAME, ADDRESS, etc) tick Convert all customer details to uppercase
  4. Select a default Statement Type from the list. All imported customers will have this Statement Type set
  5. Select a default Account Category from the list. All imported customers will be placed in this Account Category
  6. Click Import
    1. If this is the first time importing a customer file using the selected template, the Customer File Setup screen will appear. Enter a number next to each field that corresponds to the column in the file . Click Save.
    2. If the selected template has changed, click the down arrow next to Tools and click Change Customer File settings
  7. Select the Customer File to import. Files need to be in CSV or TXT formats
