As mentioned in the Installing Retailer Updates article, you should NOT have Retailer running on ANY computer while running updates.

If you do, you may encounter error messages similar to the ones below:

  • When installing Retailer


  • During the data check


  • Opening Retailer after failed update

To resolve this, do the following:

  1. Close Retailer on ALL computers and try running the update again.
  2. If the issues persist, restart the computer and then run the update again. Make sure that no one uses Retailer until the update is complete.
If you see error messages when opening Retailer on POS computers, make sure you have run the update on the POS as well. All computers should have the same version of Retailer installed.
