What do I do with a Record Conflict Lock / Closed Dataset error?

In Retailer, you may sometimes come across an error indicating Record Conflict Lock or Closed Dataset.
This error means that is has trouble saving all the data/work on your screen at the moment.
Take note of any important information on your screen involving the work you were doing (e.g. invoice number, stock item being worked on, repair number).

Clearing the Error

To resolve the error, you must close Retailer and reopen it on that terminal. If you are unable to close Retailer normally, do the following:

  1. Right-click on the time in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  2. Click on Task Manager or Start Task Manager.
  3. Click on the Processes tab.
  4. Look through the list and find Retailer Application (32 bit), click on it.
  5. Click on End Task or End Process.

If other errors appear on reopening Retailer, you will need to close Retailer and reopen again.

If the error is appearing on more than one terminal, or the error persists, you will need to restart your MAIN/server.

If the error persists after restarting your MAIN/server, contact the support help desk with as much information regarding the cause of the error as possible. Ideally, we can replicate the steps to cause the error every time.
