This is for Newsagencies Only

This report allows you to look at the sale quantities of magazine titles over two week-ranges (in comparison) and helps determine the important sale days for that title. Allowing you to see the days the magazine sells the most and if you have an overstocking or under stocking problem.

It produces a report that also colour codes the quantity when the title’s quantity on hand falls below the ‘Low’ and ‘Very Low’ quantity settings.

 Generating the Report

  1. Click on Reports->Sales Reports->Weekly Magazine Decay Report at the top of the main Retailer screen.
  2. You will see:
  3. The options available for the report are explained below:
    • Current Date Range – Set your current or recent date range which you want to look at.
    • Comparison Date Range – Set a date range from the past, ideally the same week (same dates) from a previous year, but you can set any other date range from the past.
    • Select Stock Item – Enter the Barcode or PLU of the item/title you wish to look at. You can also search for the item by clicking in the empty text box, and pressing ‘Enter’ on your keyboard. This can be the Parent item.
    • Show Colour on Report to Represent Quantity on Hand – When ticked, this option will place a colour coded box on amounts sold based on the next two options.
    • Low Quantity on Hand and Very Low Quantity on Hand – You can specify the percentage of quantities when the title is considered to have ‘Low’ and ‘Very Low’ quantities on hand. It works with the above option to tell you at a glance if you should order more of a magazine.
  4. When you’ve set your options, click on Preview to view the report before printing.

Reading the Report

The report is divided into 3 main columns over the two date ranges, and highlights each date range before listing the amounts for each week in the range.

The first column shows the date range, and both the date ranges specified in the report options should be highlighted in colour.

Each week will then be listed after that, with one row to each week.

The second column will show the amount of those magazines available for sale, which is based on the quantities arrived for the magazine issue.

The third column shows the quantities sold each day of the week. If magazine sales cause the quantity on hand to fall below the ‘Low’, ‘Very Low’ thresholds (set in options above) or reaches 0, a coloured box will enclose the amount.

In general, the darker the red colour, the less magazines you had on hand for sale for that week.
