Using OfficeSmart Catalogues to provide Discounts to selected Customers
OfficeSmart catalogues are a method of providing catalogue discounts to selected customers using discount profiles. Discount profiles will normally only allow flat percentage discounts, or will require you to set Trade Prices for all of your stock. Catalogues allow you to create more complex specials, but normally these specials apply to all customers/sales. OfficeSmart catalogues are a way of linking these two systems together.
To get started, you must first place customers in a special OfficeSmart discount profile. You can then create catalogue specials that only apply only to those customers.
The 'OfficeSmart' name is a legacy of how this system was first introduced to Retailer; OfficeSmart catalogues do not have anything to do with the OfficeSmart brand.

To use OfficeSmart Catalogues, first you will need to create an OfficeSmart Discount Profile.
- Go to Setup -> Customer, then the Discount Profiles tab.
- Click Add to create a new discount profile. Set the Profile Code to be the next number sequentially (If this is the first profile, enter '1').
In Description, enter OfficeSmart.
The upper/lower case and the spacing matters - no spaces in the Description.
- Leave the Discount Percentage blank, and do not tick the remaining options.
- Click Save.
You will then need to assign this discount profile to the customers you wish to receive discounts. To learn how to do this, follow the steps

When you are creating a new catalogue, tick the box marked OfficeSmart Customers Only. You can then add specials to the catalogue as you normally would.
For existing catalogues, you can select the catalogue, then hit Edit, then tick the OfficeSmart Customers Only box, then Save to make the specials in that catalogue exclusive to customers with this discount profile.
If you sync your catalogue specials to a Shopify website, note that OfficeSmart catalogues will not be synced.
