Units of Measurement

If you sell products by weight, length, or area, enabling the Sales UOM will display this information on the Point of Sale screen and on receipts, providing better context for staff and customers.

The following Units of Measure are available:
  1. Centimetres
  2. Metres
  3. Millimetres
  4. Grams
  5. Kilograms
  6. Metric Carat
  7. Litres
  8. Square Metres
  9. Cubic Metres
  10. Tonne

Custom Unit of Measure

If you wish to create a custom Unit of Measure:
  1. From the main screen of Retailer, click on Setup → General.
  2. Click the Unit of Measure tab
  3. Click the Add button in the bottom left corner
  4. A blank row will be added at the bottom of the Unit of Measure grid
  5. Click into the Unit column and type the Unit you wish to show on Receipts
  6. Click into the Description column and type the Description you wish to show in Retailer
  7. Click into the Format column and set how many decimal places to show
  8. Tick the ECommerce tickbox if you wish to send your Unit of Measure to a website
  9. Click Save

Enabling Sales Unit of Measurement

  1. From the main screen of Retailer, click on Stock → Stock Screen.
  2. Click on the magnifying glass button 🔎︎ to search for the stock item.
  3. Select the stock item and click OK.
  4. Click on the Other tab at the top of the screen.
  5. In Sales UOM, select the unit of measure for this item.
  6. Click Save.
Note: 'Weight required when sold' is only used with integrated scales and does not need to be ticked for your unit of measurements to work.

Processing Unit of Measurement Sales

  1. From the main screen of Retailer, click on Point of Sale.
  2. Enter the amount in units for the item and press [Enter] on the keyboard.
  3. Scan or press [Enter] to select the item from the Find Stock Screen.
  4. The unit of measurement will be displayed on the left side of the item (e.g. kg, cm) and also on the sales receipt.
