Trade Price Discounting in the Point of Sale screen

Trade Pricing is an additional sell price that can be added to a stock item, for use with customer discount profiles. From Retailer 3.3.3, it can now also be used to apply discounts in the POS screen on any sale/item. This works the similarly to adding a discount manually to an item, but automatically sets the price to the trade price.

Enable Trade Price Discounting in the POS screen

To enable Trade Price Discounting in the POS screen:

1. Up the top in the main menu screen of Retailer, go to Setup->System.
   
2. Click the Stock tab.
   
3. Tick the box that says Trade Price as Discount (Allow Trade Prices must also be ticked).
   
4. Save your changes.

Applying a Trade Price Discount in the POS screen

Applying a trade price discount in the POS screen works the same as applying a different type of discount (set price, % Off).  After you have scanned an item into the POS screen, you can access the discount options by clicking the Unit Discount amount for that item. You can also click the total discount for the sale to apply a discount to all items, or press [F8] on your keyboard, or press the discount POS button if you have one.

Regardless of which method you use to open the discount screen, simply click the Trade Price option, then OK to discount the item to its trade price.
