When starting up Retailer for the first time on a computer terminal, if the terminal name was not previously setup (such as when a terminal is being replaced), it may display a few screens prompting for initial setup.
These screens are the Add Terminal Wizard, trying to initiate some important settings for the terminal before going into Retailer and resuming normal operations.
On the first screen, the name of the terminal or computer will be shown in bold and green to confirm.

If at any point, you wish to change something like the computer name, just click Cancel to close Retailer. You can then make your changes and restart Retailer to go through this wizard from the beginning.
There is a tickbox for Show Management Warnings. This allows the terminal permissions to perform some advanced functions, and in most cases should be ticked. Tick the box if you are unsure, as you can always untick it later if necessary.
The Till box will ask for a Till number/ID to be assigned to this terminal. This affects the float and cash count at the end of the day, so try to select the relevant one.
Leave it on Till 1 if you are unsure, as it can be changed later.

For more information on how to change this Till setup later, click
HERE.
After clicking Next, the screen will ask for receipt printer, and customer display settings.
The first box will ask for the receipt printer port (in most cases, this is LPT1 or USB). Leave it on LPT1 if unsure.
There will be a tickbox 'This terminal has a customer display attached?' that you should tick if you have an older single line customer display. Leave it unticked if unsure.
If you have a single line customer display, you should then select the model from the drop-down list, and the port for the display at the bottom. Leave them empty if unsure.
Click Finish, and the setup will complete. It will then ask to close Retailer. Click Yes to do so, and reopen Retailer to start trading.
