This information is intended for the IT team setting up a cloud server for use with Retailer.

Setup 

  1. Windows to be setup with Remote desktop Services with RD session hosts and RDS Licences installed on any supported Microsoft Server Base operating system .
  2. A security group should be setup. All retailer remote access users should be members of that group. That should be the only group with access to the session collection.
  3. Retailer to run as a published application. 
  4. Retailer RDP users should only be in that security group. (not domain admins)
  5. The security group should have full access to the following folders
      • c:\tower\*.*
      • c:\temp\*.* \
  6. The following group polices should be set
    • Windows Components/Remote Desktop Services/Remote Desktop Session Host/Printer Redirection
        • Specify RD Session Host server fall-back printer driver behaviour  : Enabled
        • When attempting to find a suitable driver: Do nothing if one is not found.
        • Use Remote Desktop Easy Print printer driver first: Disabled
    • Windows Components/Remote Desktop Services/Remote Desktop Session Host/Session Time Limits
          • Set time limit for disconnected sessions  : Enabled
          • End a disconnected session :  1 minute
          • Set time limit for logoff of RemoteApp sessions Enabled
          • RemoteApp session logoff delay: 1 minute  

VPN 

A router based VPN should be setup between the sites wherever possible.  Port forwarding through routers should only be used as a last resort.
