The Sales Profitability Report allows you to view the effective margin on product sold in a chosen date range. You can narrow this down to specific departments and categories as well as specific terminals.

Generating the Report

  1. To run the report, click on Reports -> Sales Reports -> Sales Profitability Report
  2. Select the date range you wish to run the report for.
  3. Choose what report options you want selected. 
    • Choose Selected Terminals to show sales for a specific terminal.
    • Choose Selected Departments to show sales for a specific terminal.
    • Choose Selected categories to show sales for a specific terminal.
      Note: Multiple terminals, departments or categories cant be selected, only single options or all options.
  4. Tick Show Full Description to show the long description of the stock item.
    NoteExclude Home Delivery & Subagent Orders is only used in newsagents.
  5. Tick Show Totals For Each Category if you wish to see totals for categories as well as departments.
  6. Choose the orientation of the report, landscape will allow for more room for the item description.

Reading the Report

  1. Stock Barcode - Shows the barcode of item sold.
  2. Stock Description - Description of the item sold
  3. Qty Sold - Number of times this item was sold in the period selected.
  4. Cost - Cost of single line item.
  5. Total Cost - Total cost of all line items sold in the period selected.
  6. Retail - Retail price of single line item.
  7. Total Retail - Total retail price of line items sold in the period selected.
  8. Total Disc. - Total discount applied to line items sold in the period selected.
  9. Margin % - Calculated margin percentage of line items sold in the period selected.

Departments, categories & stock on the report are listed in alphabetical order.

Exporting the Report

You can export the report to either a PDF document or Excel spreadsheet by using the Preview button and following the below steps:

  1. PDF - Click on the red PDF button at the top of the report and choose your save destination.
  2. Excel spreadsheet - Click on the Print button at the top left. Tick 'Print to File' and select 'Xlsx Data File'. Click on the three dots button to choose your save destination. Click OK to save the file.
