RoamV2 - Add or Edit Stock
The Product Management section of Roam allows you to make changes to Stock Items and create new Stock Items.
Access Product Management
- From your Roam POS screen, click on the hamburger menu button ☰ in the top left corner.
- In the menu sidebar, click Product Management
- Use the Search box at the top of the Product Management screen to search for a Stock Item by Description or Barcode.
- The blue filter button at the top of the screen can be used to filter stock items:
- Department
- Category
- Supplier
- Non-Retailer Products (Products created in Roam)
- Variant Products only
- Click the Create New button in the top right corner to create a new product
Product Details
After selecting a Product, the Product Details page will open.
You can make changes to the product. To save, click Update Product. To Cancel changes, click Reset in the top right corner.
Create a New Stock Item
Below are the steps to create a Stock Item in Roam. Some fields are optional.
- From the Product Management screen, click the Create New button in the top right corner.
- Click into the Barcode box and scan the barcode or use the question mark button to generate a barcode
- Enter the Product Name
- (Optional) Enter an Extended Description for the Product
- (Optional) Enter a PLU for the Product
- (Optional) Enter the Item's Weight. Use the KG button to change Unit of Measure
- Select the Product Department
- (Optional) Select the Product Category
- (Optional) Click Manage Tags to assign Tags to the Product. New Tags can be created using the Add Tag button
- The Tax Group will automatically fill based on the Department selection. Confirm the correct Tax Group is set.
- Enter the Cost and Retail Prices.
- Changing the Cost will automatically recalculate the Retail using Markup Percentage
- After changing the Retail, use the calculator button to calculate the Cost Price based on the Retail Price
- (Optional) Enter the Trade Price
- (Optional) Select a Supplier for the Product
- If a Supplier is selected, a Supplier Stock Code is required. Enter the Item's Product Code
- (Optional) If you use Serial Numbers in Retailer, you can turn on the Serial Number prompt when Arriving or Selling.
- Click Create Product
Variants
Create Main Variant item
- From the Product Management screen, select the item you wish to make a Main Variant Item
- In the top right corner, click More Actions
- Click Select Variant Template
- Click the Variant Template you wish to use
- Enter the Values for the required Variant Types (ie Colour and Size)
- Click Create Variant
Link existing item to Main Variant
- From the Product Management screen, select the item you wish to make a Child Variant Item
- In the top right corner, click More Actions
- Click Choose Parent Product
- Select the Main Variant Item to link this item to
- Enter the Values for the required Variant Types (ie Colour and Size)
- Click Update Product
Create new Child Variant item
- From the Product Management screen, select the Main Variant item you wish to create a Child Variant for
- In the top right corner, click More Actions
- Click Child Variant
- Enter the Barcode or press the question mark ? button to generate a barcode
- Enter the Values for the required Variant Types (ie Colour and Size)
- Click Duplicate Product
