Retailer has various keyboard shortcuts that can make your use of the system faster and easier. This sheet is divided into the different areas of Retailer as some keys are only available from certain screens.

General

These function keys are available from any screen within Retailer:

Any button on a screen with an underlined letter on it (e.g. Save) can be access by pressing Alt on the keyboard, then that letter (eg. Save is [Alt] + [S]).
If there are multiple fields on a screen for you to enter data into, you can press [Tab] on the keyboard to move between them. Similarly, you can use [Shift] + [Tab] to move back to the previous field.
In some data entry wizards, you can press [F2] to perform a Quick Save on the data (eg. when entering new stock during an Invoice Arrival).
If you are asked a question with a Yes or No answer, simply press Y or N on the keyboard.
[Ctrl] + ClickSelect multiple separate items in a list (eg. departments to be shown on a report), you can hold down the [Ctrl] key and click on each of the desired items to select multiple random items.
[Shift] + Click Select a group of items from a list, click the first item, scroll to the last item , hold down the [Shift] key and click on the last item. All items in between will be selected.
[Alt] +[T]Stock Enquiry screen.

This screen will show arrival and return information about the chosen product, as well as the price, department, category, PLU, Quantity on Hand and Sales History.

[Alt] + [F]File Menu.
[Alt] + [M]Customers Menu.

Point of Sale Screen

General

[Esc]

Sale Items List. This allows you to edit, delete and modify specific items in the current sale. From this screen, you have the following options:

 

[F5]

Delete selected item from sale.

 

[F8]

Discount selected item in sale.

 

[Alt] + [B] 

Specify the staff member who sold the current item. 

 

[Alt] + [J]

Temporarily change the description of the selected item (for this sale only).

 

[Insert]  

Temporarily change the selected item’s sell price (this sale only).

 

[Delete] 

Permanently change the selected item’s sell price. 

[End] 

End Sale.

This is the equivalent of pressing ‘End Sale’ on a touch screen or programmable keyboard.  

[F2]

Sub Total.

This is the equivalent of pressing ‘Sub Total’ on a touch screen or programmable keyboard.

[Ctrl] & [F2]

Cancel Sale

 

Cancels the current sale.

[F3]

Sale History

 

Opens the previous sales screen.

[F4]

No Sale

 

Opens the no sale menu, used for cash expenses and till adjustments.

[F5]

Delete Item.

 

This deletes the selected item from the sale.

[F6]

Repeat Item.

 

Adds 1 to the qty of the selected item.

[F7]

Invoice Credit

 

Select a customer to credit items to their account. [Ctrl] + [F7] allows you to credit specific invoices to their account.

[F8]

Apply Discount

 

Apply a discount to the sale across all items. [Alt} + [F8] applies a discount to only the selected item.

[F9]

Invoice Customer

 

Opens the find customer screen and turns the sale into a customer invoice.

[F11] 

Payments Menu.

This will ask you to select a customer first, then give you payment options for them.  

[F12]

Reprint Receipt

 

Prints the most recent sales receipt.

[Alt] + [M] 

Customer Menu.

This will pop up the Find Customer screen. Select a customer and the Customer Transaction Menu comes up.  

[Alt] + [K] 

Stock Screen.

This will pop up the stock screen for the last item that was scanned in Point of Sale.

[Alt] + [A] 

Invoice Arrivals.

This allows you to perform arrivals while at the counter serving customers. Once you’re in Invoice Arrivals, use [Alt] + [P] to return to POS.

[Alt] + [X] 

Customer Screen/POS Toggle.

Opens the customer screen for the last customer affected by a POS function (e.g. payment, invoice).  

[Alt] + [N] 

Customer Card Notes.

This allows you to enter freehand notes against this transaction.

[Ctrl] + [G]

Sell A Gift Voucher.

This allows you to sell gift vouchers. This function requires the Gift Vouchers module. [Alt] + [G] allows you to search for existing vouchers.

[Ctrl] + [D] 

Shift Sales Dashboard

Shows sales statistics for your business since the last time you performed an End of Shift.

[Ctrl] + [Z] 

Redeem Loyalty Points.

This allows a customer to use their loyalty points to purchase products from you. You will be prompted to select a customer to redeem the points for. This function requires the Loyalty module.  

[Ctrl] + [C]

Layby Collection.

From this screen you can collect laybys.

[Ctrl] + [L]

Layby Sale

 

Turns the current sale into a layby on the chosen account.

[Ctrl] + [O] 

Humm

 

Make Humm payments. Requires Humm integration to be set up.

[Ctrl] + [S] 

Suspend Sale.

This allows you to put a sale on hold and come back to it later.

[Ctrl] + [B]

Quote & Invoice Management

 

Opens the Quote & Invoice Management window.

[Ctrl] + [J]

Special Customer Order

 

Turns the current sale into a special order for the customer selected.

[Alt] + [O]

Special Customer Order Management

 

Opens special customer order management, allowing you to collect orders.


Jewellers/Bike Shops

[Alt] +[R]Repairs.

This opens the Repairs screen, allowing you to add a new repair or edit an existing one. This function requires the Repairs module.
[Ctrl] + [I]Insurance Sale.

This allows you to perform an insurance sale. You will be prompted to select (or add) an insurance company, then for the customer making the claim. This function requires the Insurance Sales module.
[Ctrl] +[U]Duty/Tax Free Sale.

This allows you to perform a sale with no tax associated to it. This is useful if you process online orders from international customers or do duty free sales. This function requires the Duty Free Sales module.
[Alt] + [C]Valuations.

This allows you to create a valuation certificate and process the sale in POS. This function requires the Valuations module.


Newsagents

[Ctrl] + [P]

Putaway Management.

This opens the Putaway Management screen to allow you to check which customers have outstanding putaways, sent and unsent backorders, and collected putaways.

[Ctrl] + [E]

Epay

This allows you to sell Phone Recharge Vouchers, among other products, from POS. An account is required with Epay for this function. This function requires the Electronic Vouchers module.

[Ctrl] + [T]

Terminal Connect.


Opens the Terminal Connect interface for processing lotto sales. Requires Terminal Connect to be set up.

[F7]

Subagent returns Scanning.

If you press [F7] (Invoice Credit) and select a subagent, you will be taken to Returns Scanning (as you cannot do a invoice credit for a subagent without doing a return). There is no method of returning to POS without closing Returns.
