The Period Takings Report allows you to report on sales within pre-set date ranges eg. Q4 2022.

Configure Periods

  1. On the top menu bar of Retailer, click on Setup -> Calendar.
  2. Click on the + icon.
  3. Enter the details of the period(s) as required.
  4. Click on the green tick icon to save the period(s). 

Generating the Report

  1. On the top menu bar of Retailer, click on Reports -> Sales Reports -> Takings Reports -> Period Takings Report.
  2. In Report Date Range:
    • Select the Start Period - This will use the Start Date of the selected period.
    • Select the End Period - This will use the End Date of the selected period.
  3. In Select Departments and Terminals:
    • Above the departments list, choose All to report on all departments or choose Selected to select the departments to report on.
    • Above the terminals list, choose All to report on all terminals or choose Selected to select the terminals to report on.
  4. In Options:
    • Tick Exclude Home Delivery & Subagent Orders
      to ignore sales/charges from home delivery and subagent billings.
    • Tick Exclude Agency
      to ignore sales of agency departments such as phonecards or lotto.
    • Tick Show Totals of Sale Types Per Department
      to display the totals of each payment type for each department.
    • Tick Show Graph
      to display a graph of sales.
    • Choose between Show GST or Do Not Show GST to display or hide the GST amounts, respectively.
  5. Click Preview or Print.

Reading the Report

The Period Takings Report will demonstrate the sales made for each department.

  1. Department – Lists the department being analysed, this column will also list different sales made with each department Eg. Cash sale, Invoice etc.
  2. Sales – Shows the total value of sales made on the above date.
  3. GST – Shows the value of GST taken from sales made on the above date.
  4. Total – Shows the total sales for each department in the specified period
  5. Total GST – Shows the total amount of GST taken in the specified period.
  6. Graph – This graph demonstrates the total amount of sales per date which allows you to visualise the amount of sales being made in each department. The left hand side demonstrates the value of sales and the bottom side shows the date range.
The graph can be hidden using the Hide Graph option on the top of the screen.
