Pairing an Element Bluetooth Scanner for Roam
The pairing steps shown below will only work with Element brand Scanners (Element P303).
Setup Element scanner
First, switch on the scanner by pressing the scanner button for 3 seconds. A light should indicate that it is on.
Then, scan this QR code and it will make the scanner available for pairing, for 2 minutes.
If you are unable to scan this QR code off the screen, print the page and scan the QR code on the document.
Scan this QR code as well to make sure it scans barcodes properly.
Pairing your Element scanner with your iPad
- Head into Settings -> Bluetooth
- Make sure 'Bluetooth' is enabled, you should then see your scanner '12 digit serial number'. The serial number should match what is on the physical scanner.
- Tap the device and your iPad should begin pairing the Scanner.
Pairing your Element scanner with your Android (Google) tablet
- Head into Settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth
Make sure 'Bluetooth' is 'On', you should then see your scanner '12 digit serial number'. The serial number should match what is on the physical scanner.
- Tap the device and your tablet should begin pairing the Scanner.
Troubleshooting Element scanners
If you are having difficulty pairing your Element Scanner, the first thing to try is to 'Forget' your Bluetooth pairing. This can be done by following the steps above for pairing the device. The device should be in 'My Devices/ Paired Devices' select the Socket Scanner and select 'Forget Device' then proceed to pair it again.
You can also reset your Element Scanner to factory settings using the below barcode. If you do this, don't forget to redo the setup with the QR codes at the beginning of this article.
