New PC / Windows Configuration - Minimum PC Requirements
Hardware and System Configuration Standards for Tower Systems Retailer POS Software
This article outlines the current hardware and computer system configuration standards required for running Tower Systems’ Retailer POS software effectively. These standards are an integral part of Tower Systems' terms and conditions.
Compliance and Warranty Disclaimer
Non-compliance Risks: Hardware and configurations that do not meet these standards may not run the software as intended.
No Warranty: Tower Systems provides no warranties for the performance of its software on hardware that fails to meet these standards or is not configured as specified by the company
Training Delays: If you supply your own non-standard hardware, troubleshooting may reduce the time available for training.
While the software may operate on hardware outside these specifications, Tower Systems offers no guarantees regarding performance or functionality in such cases.

Operating System: Windows 11 Pro, Windows 10 Pro or Windows IOT

1Gbps Ethernet Network
Displays/Monitor:
Minimum resolution 1024x768
Preferred resolution 1920x1080
Main or Server Computers
Stores with 3 or less computers
Stores with 4 or more computers
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro or Windows 11 Pro

Intel Core i5 or higher
8GB RAM
256GB SSD
1Gbps Ethernet Network
Displays/Monitor:
Minimum 1024x768
Preferred 1920x1080

Network Infrastructure Requirements
Internet Access: Broadband internet connection available to all machines.
Cabling: Cat-5e or Cat-6 network cabling installed and terminated by a qualified technician.
Networking Equipment: Routers and switches must have 1Gbps Ethernet ports.
Wi-Fi Support: While the software can operate over Wi-Fi, reduced speeds may be experienced.
Why Windows Home is Not Recommended
Although the Retailer POS software may technically run on Windows Home, it is not an approved operating system due to the following limitations:
Security Services: Windows Home lacks robust security features compared to Pro versions.
Networking Services: Limited networking capabilities can impact functionality.
Support Burden: Increased technical issues may lead to dissatisfaction.
To ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction, Tower Systems strongly recommends using only approved operating systems, such as Windows Pro editions.
