This article sets out the current hardware and computer system configuration standards required by Tower Systems for our Retailer POS software.

This advice forms part of Tower Systems’ contract terms and conditions.

Hardware and configurations which do not meet these standards may not run the Tower Systems Retailer software in the manner promoted by the company.

Tower Systems makes no warranties in relation to the running of its software on hardware which does not match these standards, or is not configured according to this document.

Please follow these standards. If you are supplying your own hardware, time may be lost dealing with non-standard hardware and will therefore not be available for training. If you are unsure of anything, please speak to the Tower Systems salesperson who sold you the software.

While Tower Systems acknowledges that its software may run on hardware other than what is specified here, it makes no warranties or performance claims in relation to hardware which does not match these specifications.

Why is Windows Home not adequate for the Tower Retailer software?

While, technically, our software does run under Windows Home, we have found Windows Home to be inadequate in terms security services and networking services. What this means is that running Windows Home will limit what you can do with Retailer. It will add to a support burden. You will be dissatisfied. This is why we actively recommend against Windows Home.

To be clear, Windows Home is not an approved operating system for our Retailer software because we have your best interests at heart.
