Integrate Retailer with CCTV

Integrate Retailer with CCTV

Retailer can integrate with your instore CCTV system. This can be used to match events from the Retailer Audit Log with CCTV footage. E.g. Opening Cash Drawer without sale, cancelling or deleting a sale, etc.

To integrate Retailer to a CCTV system, the Security Bridge module must be enabled. To check this:
  1. From the Main Screen of Retailer, in the top menu bar, click on Help -> Register.
  2. The Security Bridge tick-box needs to be ticked. If it isn't, contact Tower Systems Support to have it enabled.
Your CCTV System must also have a POS Integration feature. Check the manual of your CCTV System or ask your CCTV/Alarm System provider.

Note required network details

You will need the IP Address of each POS PC that you want to integrate. This can be found in Retailer Backup.
  1. On POS PC, open Retailer Backup (Blue R)
  2. On the left hand side, click Settings then Database Settings
  3. Note the IP Address listed next to This IP Address
You will also need the IP Address of your CCTV DVR/NVR. This can be found from either the CCTV System Network Settings page or your Internet Router.
If you have not configured your network to retain static IP addresses, these may change when you reboot computers or the internet router. Consult your IT Tech.

Every Retailer Audit Event will now register as an Event in your CCTV System. This makes searching for CCTV footage simple.
Rather than needing to watch all footage or try to skip to a specific time, you're able to just watch the footage for each POS Audit Event. Check your CCTV manual for details on Playback of POS Events
The Insights Dashboard and Audit Log can be used to list POS Audit Events which can be matched to footage on your CCTV System.
