The Honeywell PDE requires a utility called ScanWedge to be able to scan. If this utility is not enabled, you won't be able scan products using the device.

Signs that point toward ScanWedge not being enabled include:

  • The laser beam does not appear when the [Scan] button is pressed.
  • The barcode icon on the bottom taskbar does not appear

Enabling ScanWedge

  1. Click on the Windows Start button on the bottom-left corner of the PDE screen.
  2. Click on Programs and then click on Tools.
  3. Double-tap on the ScanWedge icon.

Once this has been done, a barcode icon will appear on the bottom taskbar and the laser beam will appear when you press the [Scan] button.
