Follow this advice in the event that one of your computers won’t start up as normal. It covers situations where the PC isn’t receiving power at all, where it is receiving power but there’s no image on the screen, and where the PC is cycling through the boot sequence. Please follow this advice very carefully before contacting Tower Systems regarding an issue with your hardware.

No Lights on Computer Box

  1. Check that the power cable is plugged into a power source.
  2. Check that the power source is turned on.
    • For wall sockets, make sure the switch is turned on. You can also try plugging into a different socket.
    • For powerboards, make sure the safety button is not triggered. Press the button down if it has. You can also try connecting directly to the wall socket.
    • For Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS), make sure the safety button is not triggered. Press the button down if it has. You can also try connecting directly to the wall socket.
  3. If the computer still does not start, contact a local IT technician to have a look at the computer. 
  4. If the computer was purchased through Tower Systems, contact the Support Team and quote the invoice date of the computer.

Computer Lights are On but Screen is Blank

  1. Ensure that the monitor's power switch is turned on.
  2. Check that the power cable is plugged into a power source and turned on. 
    • For wall sockets, make sure the switch is turned on. You can also try plugging into a different socket.
    • For powerboards, make sure the safety button is not triggered. Press the button down if it has. You can also try connecting directly to the wall socket.
    • For Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS), make sure the safety button is not triggered. Press the button down if it has. You can also try connecting directly to the wall socket.
  3. If the monitor still does not turn on, contact a local IT technician to have a look at the computer. 
  4. If the monitor was purchased through Tower Systems, contact the Support Team and quote the invoice date of the monitor.
  5. In the meantime, use a spare monitor and its own cables.
