Current, Early, Late Returns Defined

Recall Date on Magazines
All magazines supplied are given a recall date by suppliers. These recall dates differs for each issue of each magazine title.

Recall Date on Returns Forms
Suppliers will also send a returns form that has a recall date specified. The returns form will contain magazine issues that match the recall date of the returns form.

Current/Early/Late Returns
Retailer compares the recall date on the magazine to the returns form to determine if returns being sent back are current, early or late returns.

For example, if the current recall date due for return was W4508:

  • Scanned returns with a recall date of W4508 will appear on the Current Returns Form.
  • Scanned returns with a recall date of W4608 or later will appear on the Early Returns Form.
  • Scanned returns with a recall date of W4408 or earlier will appear on the Late Returns Form.

Early and Late returns can also be combined into a single Supplemental report.
