If you encounter the following error message: TAsciiFile, Open -> File not found, it indicates there's a problem with Retailer attempting to open your cash drawer. Please follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue.
- Check that the receipt printer is turned on and printing correctly, as it triggers the cash drawer.

- If the receipt printer is functioning properly, check the cable connections at both ends from the cash drawer to the printer. Ensure the cash drawer cable is plugged into the cash drawer port on the receipt printer. Newer models feature this port marked with an image of a cash drawer and the letters "DK".
If the cash drawer is still not working, check the settings in Retailer.
- On the top menu bar of Retailer, click on Setup → General → Pay Types. Make sure your payment types are ticked to Open Cash Drawer where appropriate.
- On the top menu bar of Retailer, click on Setup → Point of Sale → Till Setup. Check that the Port has LPT1 for any tills checked for a Cash Drawer.
- On the top menu bar of Retailer, click on Setup → Point of Sale → Terminals. Under the Printing tab, ensure that the Port is set to LPT1.
