Applying Discounts at Point of Sale

In the Point of Sale screen, you can perform discounts in the following ways:

• The unit price of an item - Click the amount in the Unit Discount column of the appropriate item. You can also select the item and press [Alt] + [F8] on your keyboard.
• The total of a stock item - Click the amount in the Total column of the appropriate item.
• The total of the entire sale - Click in the Total Discount or Subtotal box or press [F8] on your keyboard.
  

Entering a Discount in Point of Sale

1. From the main screen of Retailer, click on Point of Sale.
2. Scan/Enter the stock items into the sale as usual.
3. Access the discount screen through one of the methods above.
   
4. Choose between the following discount methods:
• Percentage - Applies a discount of the specified percentage
• Amount - Applies a discount of the specified amount
• Set Price - Sets the price of the item to the amount specified
5. Enter the discount percentage/amount.
6. The new price and gross profit will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.
7. Click OK. Discounted items will be highlighted in purple.
   

The Select Discount window has three options available: Set New Discount, Discount on Top of Already Discounted Items, Remove Discount.

You can also set up catalogues that will automatically apply discounts to items if pre-set conditions are met. Click HERE for more details.
