Afterpay

Afterpay is switching from the software-based integration model to one where, to you, an Afterpay transaction will work like a credit card purchase, managed through your EFTPOS terminal. The Afterpay card is on Mastercard in Australia and Visa in New Zealand.

  1. Apply for Afterpay by going to get.afterpay.com
  2. During the application process, sign the agreement
  3. Provide Afterpay with your MID for contactless Visa/Mastercard transactions
  4. Provide Afterpay with your Scheme Merchant name, e.g, Joe's Shoe Store Melbourne Central
Once these steps are undertaken, Afterpay will activate the Afterpay Card for you.  If you choose not to accept Paywave transactions or are unable to technically accept them, you will not be able to accept the Afterpay Card in-store.

If you encounter any issues with Afterpay, you will need to contact Afterpay, your bank, or your EFTPOS provider.

Info
If you want to track Afterpay transactions separately from your regular EFTPOS transactions, you can create a dedicated payment type just for Afterpay.
